In Sweden, there was a typo on a recipe that was featured in a magazine, causing four people to have nutmeg poisoning.
According to this article, ”nutmeg contains a substance called myristicin, a narcotic that can cause hallucinations, nausea, vomiting and sometimes circulatory collapse.”
There is a huge difference between a pinch of nutmeg vs. 20 whole nutmeg nuts!
