mmm the best thing about fall is pumpkin flavored everything!

i’ve never made pumpkin cookies from scratch but i have used pumpkin bread mix from pillsbury and changed their bread recipe by taking out an egg and it made into a more cookie like consistency, then i added chocolate chips & nuts. but urs def seems a lot bettterrr. mm looks soo goooood!

I made a pumpkin cookie last year too and it also turned out quite cakey. a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. people who had it the day after loved it because it had a nice crunch but a soft interior. but then again, I love pumpkin so I could care less

@Sarah – interesting point! I thought about chilling the dough for a bit, then rolling them separately to make them look more cookie like. Try it next time!

I’ve made these cookies before. I was inspired by some cookies I buy at a weekly farmer’s market. Like you, I had those little peaks on my cookies, but somehow the farmer’s market cookies lack them. I haven’t been able to figure out how to smooth them over. Maybe I shouldn’t worry since the peaks are kind of pretty.
