Recipe: Easy Chunky Guacamole

As a follow up to my last post, I wanted to share with you an easy recipe for guacamole. The name guacamole is derived from two Aztec Nahuatl words: ahuacatl (avocado) and molli (sauce). Traditionally, guacamole was made using a mortar and pestle to mash the ingredients together.

Fortunately, guacamole is a very versatile recipe even without a mortar and pestle (I don’t have one). I love my guacamole with a kick from green chilies, along with lots of garlic and cilantro!

Just in case you’re wondering – I left the avacado pits in there to keep the guacamole from oxidizing and turning brown. This works just long enough for your guests finish the big bowl of guacamole at a party. Do you have any tips for keeping guacamole from browning? (Pressing plastic on it doesn’t work for me.)
