Kitchen Tip: How To Grow Your Own Herbs
6 Jun
When a recipe calls for 10 pieces of cilantro leaves, do you ever wish you could just buy 10 pieces at a time? I do! Despite my attempts to keep the whole bunch fresh, it ends up going bad before I could make good use of it. So planting some herbs in pots sounded like the perfect idea! But would I be able to in my apartment?
Did I ever mention that I’m a city girl? To be more specific, I’m a New York City girl. (For those of you wondering, yes, I have my driver’s license. How often do I drive? Well – that’s another story.)
Meanwhile, Dan is a suburb guy who grows vegetables in his backyard. So he helped me plant herbs with the kit I received from the Eggland’s Best event in July 2010. (The name is so awesome and straight to the point.) Though the kit comes with everything you need, including soil, Dan was gracious enough to bring some dirt from his backyard. Nothing says romance like homemade compost
